A Rainbow Room

It took a trip to Disney shortly after her third birthday to get my daughter interested in getting out of her crib.  Yes, at three, she was still in a crib with all the rails up.  The hotel that we stayed at in Disney had a bed that folded down from the wall that was only a few inches from the ground and had a gorgeous mural of Lilo and Stitch.  She loved it!

So on our return, we made the transition from the crib to a toddler bed.  That lasted a few months until she started asking for a bed as big as ours.  We talked about it with her for a few weeks to make sure she was ready and when we felt she was going to stay in her bed and not try to climb in ours every night, I sat her in front of a computer to pick out the theme for her new big girl room.

We scrolled through various websites.  While I tried my hardest to steer her in certain directions, she wanted all the rainbows!

Girls Like Blue Too

If we are ever blessed with another baby, I am not going to know what to do with that room!  There are so many themes, so many color palettes that I just love!

Navy Blue and Tan Nursery for Baby Girls

These are just a few things that I am just loving right now and would make an absolutely gorgeous nursery!  What do you think?

A Modern Nursery

Photos from Pottery Barn Kids
I have always loved Pottery Barn. If it wasn’t for my extremely traditional husband, I would want my house to look like a page from a Pottery Barn catalog. But turns out, he really had ideas for how he wanted the house to look, and it was a battle I chose not to fight. Although I was able to decorate my daughter’s nursery in some Pottery Barn bedding!

Nursery Tour: Ren's Little Man Nursery

I love looking at nurseries! I have so many Pinterest boards dedicated to different ideas (it’s overwhelming, I know!). I seriously can’t wait to (hopefully) get pregnant with baby number two and redecorate my daughter’s room and decorate the new baby’s room!

Laura, from Outline Interiors, has shared some beautiful nurseries with me – one boy and one girl. I’m excited to share these with you too. First up, Ren’s nursery!

Hayley's Big Girl Room

I am dying for Savanna to be ready to done with her crib. She turned three in January, but she has no interest in retiring her crib. We tried once and she begged us to put the rail back on. She never tries to climb out and must feel very safe and comfortable in her crib. There are bigger issues to worry about when a child moves from a crib to a big bed (like wandering around the house in the middle of the night), but I want to redecorate!

Navy, Turquoise and Coral Nursery Inspiration

I love blue, especially navy. I am always thinking about how I want to decorate my daughter’s room when she is ready to move from a crib to a “big girl” bed, although at that point, she is probably going to want to do the decorating herself. Either way, I think navy, turquoise and coral is a gorgeous color palette perfect for a little girl or little boy. Here are some of my favorite things that would be perfect in a nursery with these colors, depending on the theme you have chosen:

Cool Pillows for Boys

You may be thinking, pillows for a boy’s room?! Well, how much more comfortable can your little boy be if you throw some cool pillows on the bed for a fun little place for him to read? Makes it pretty exciting for him to run and jump on the bed with his favorite book!
